Grand Celebration - August 4th
The City will host a Grand Celebration on Saturday, August 4th in honor of the Quasquicentennial Year! It's a FREE day of fun! Spend time in downtown Claremont on Saturday, August 4th any time from 1:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Festivities will be at Claremont City Hall at 3288 East Main Street and at Claremont City Park at 3384 East Main Street. Signs will direct you to activities.
Food vendors (BBQ, Hot Dogs, Fried Fish, Pizza, Cotton Candy, Cake, Popcorn, Shaved Ice & More!), games, a sports arena inflatable, DJ and other activities will be in City Hall parking lot from lunch until 8:00 p.m. Also, during that time local businesses will have booths doing fun activities or giveaways. In the City Park at that same time, there will be water play with a fire truck, inflatable water slides, and other interactive inflatables. At 5:00 p.m. you will find face painting inside City Hall that will include the option of black light paint and balloon twisting (balloon hats and accessories!) outside so you can get all decked out for the parade.
Meet at City Hall at 8:15 p.m. to join in on the parade down Main Street to the park. Everyone is welcome to join in the parade following dancers and city vehicles. Bring your wagons, golf carts, walking shoes or anything else fun (but no vehicles) and have an amazing time. The big finale will be Claremont's first ever FIREWORKS show in City Park at 9:00 p.m. Afterward, there will be music, storytelling, bonfires, s'mores and glow-in-the-dark/black light fun down in the park. Come out for fellowship with our community and don't miss this one-time event celebrating Claremont!
